What do they mean?

able能夠……的adjective(比較級abler,最高級ablest

be able to do something表示“能夠做某事”;able形容人時,表示“能幹”,反義詞為unable,但它不可修飾名詞。

• If you stand on this bench, you should be able to see over the wall.

• The abler students were given a harder exercise to do.
