Tune: Picking Mulberries
—The Summer Palace, 1953
Looking from the Buddhist Pavilion the lake is small,
The hill is tall.
Who deems the hills tall?
See in its fl oor water embrace them all?
Lotus leaves block half of the pond,
Idly I would not roll the oar.
When I roll the oar.
The Jade Belt Bridge in its best comes to the fore.
Note:
This is a self-encouraging poem with the Summer Palace as its topic.
